First day filming and difficulties

Image
To begin with, we had some difficulties gathering our props before we began filming, so we had to revert to our backup plan of substituting soda. After 20 minutes of hustling and worrying, we finally started filming. We jumped right into the first scene, which was at the vending machine, practicing camera angles, shots, and positions, as well as memorizing lines and tones. With the first scene, we had to do a few takes before we were comfortable with what we had. We watched the clip, suggested some home-editing tips, and then moved on to the next scene with actress 2. In between we took a short shot of just the product for edit to do at home. We shot the second scene on the cafeteria's outside (senior patio). Actress 2 went through the same process as Actress 1, memorizing words, tones, and postures. It took a few tries before we were satisfied with the result. Both actresses have to be in the shot for the final scene. This scene was placed between the two previous ones. To film bo

Scene 1 - Actress 1 grabs a Sprite from vending machine. An over the shoulder angle and tilt shot is performed to Sprite being grabbed. Scene 2 - zoom/ close up to emphasize the Sprite logo. Crack open, take a sip of soda, and zooms out to a medium shot. Scene 3 - Actress 1 walks towards camera while holding a sprite can, and says “For a refreshing day…”, then there is a transition to Actor 2 Scene 4 - Actress 2 stands from table, walks towards camera while drinking sprite and says, “It is always important to choose enjoyable soda”  Scene 5 - Actress 1 and 2 continues walking, takes a sip of sprite, meets up, bumps cans together, then says, “Sprite is what we choose.” There is then a zoom out on both actors at an high angle Scene 6 - Blur with both actresses in the back and show logo. “Sprite. #FREEDOM OF THIRST”

Props:  Since my group and I decided to do a Sprite commercial, our main prop is a Sprite drink. Other props will include a vending machine. Costumes:  In our commercial, we will have 2 group members as a subject. The actors would wear casual outfits that align with sprite colors (green, yellow, lime green, and white) this includes shoes. Schedule:  Storyboard - September 28 Filming Blog - September 30 & October 4 (a total of 2) Editing Blog - October 6 & October 8 ( a total of 2) Commercial - October 8 CCR (reflection) - October 13 Location List:  Our main location is under the stairwell of the media center, near the vending machine. This will show that Sprite can be found in all places. We would film an actor buying a Sprite. Our second location will be the hallway between building 505 to the cafeteria. At this location, we film our actor walking and enjoying a sip of Sprite. This will show that Sprite is an energy booster and enjoyable. Backup Plan: If the weather is not g

Research Blog: Commercial Conventions and Codes

My group is doing a SPRITE commercial, the audience usually sees people buying the soda or seen already drinking the soda They wear costumes that are casual outfits, that align with the color of the soda (green, yellow and lime green and white) Props include a Sprite soda can or bottle, glass door refrigerator or vending machine Their appearance is usually relaxed or cheerful  The score through commercials has a fast click and hissing sound when opening the can, which is meant to make the audience feel refreshed. Conventional and codes in Sprite commercials include the logo lemon-lime to represent the flavor of the beverage, with an added slogan of “Freedom Of Thirst”. This helps connect the soda to the idea that Sprite is a refreshing drink. In the commercial the props are ALWAYS angled to show the logo and colors of the Sprite bottle or can. Sprite has a unique collaboration of colors, so when the audience sees the bottle or can, they know it’s a Sprite commercial without the comme

I am working with Nurdlie, a friend that I recently made. We share a lot of similarities and have the best time together. I chose to work with Nurdlie because I trust her with my grade. She is responsible and reliable. I trust that I can rely on her for help and support. She also shows a lot of commitment to her work. She is a visionary and I am a strategist, which made me think this was a good balance for a team. We’re skilled in different things, which I think could be helpful for this project. This way we can combine our ideas to make something that represents us. We share different ideas and perspectives and tell the honest truth about what we think of each. We tell each other when we make mistakes and improve on them. We work really well together. Nurdlie is also very time organized, which could keep us both on top of schedule. Communication and efficiency is one of our strongest components, we keep each other updated and put time and thought into our work. We are both very f

Hi! My name is Naturelle Dixon, I’m 15 years old, and I’m a 10th grader. Math is my favorite subject in school because I’m really good with numbers and problem solving. One of my favorite things to do in my spare time is read comics or play games with friends. Right now I’m reading the comic “F Minus”, by Tony Carillo. If I could have any super power it would be teleportation because I get lazy sometimes. If I could keep any animal as a pet, I would choose an elephant because we share the qualities of being laid-back but bold. The games and dances are undoubtedly my favorite aspects of school, because I love to attend events. Green is my favorite color, specifically forest green, because it reminds me of nature and gives me a sense of renewal. Winter is my favorite season because my birthday is in December and my favorite holiday, Christmas, is also celebrated at this time. My favorite comfort movies are The Perks of Being a Wallflower and The Art of Getting By. They are both comi
