Film day afterschool

Image
Hey, blog! So for our second film day, my partner and I did the last half of the film after school, which was mostly my scenes. It was a bit windy today but not as windy as the first film day. I made sure to be in the right costume and bring in all the props. As usual, when my partner and I arrived we started filming at the top of the park and worked our way to the end of the park as the scenes of the film progressed. Today's scenes were filled with a lot of running, we had to do the chase scene over and over again, as well as the tripping and falling scene. Eventually, we got really tired and took a 20-minute break to eat and talk. After the break, my partner and I refilmed the first half of the film that we felt could be better, and then went back to the second half of the film. The weather was set up pretty nicely so there wasn't a big difference between the two halves of the film. After the constant running back and forth on the tracks of the park, my partner and I sat dow

All about sounds and music blog

Image
Hey, blog! So today is all about the sounds and kind of music that's going to be in the film. In scene 1 of the film the type of sound emanating would be diegetic sounds. A conversation between both actresses. In scene 2 of the film, there will be diegetic sounds of upbeat music played by the main actress, and as that scene comes to a point there will be a fade-out of that upbeat music to alert the audience that something is odd is occurring to the actor in the film. In scene 3 of the film where the actress is going to e chased, there is a diegetic sound of the crunching of leaves or breaking of sticks to alert the actress that she is in danger. When the actress is being chased there will be non-diegetic music, energetic fast paced instrumental music, to get the audience at the edge of their seat and fixated on what's going on in the film. At the end of the scene, there is a diegetic sound of a weapon hitting a surface. As for the last scene of the film non-diegetic music of su

No filming today, just editing

Today my partner and I didn't film, we couldn't meet up because of our schedules so we decided to do another day. Instead of filming we still wanted to be progressive so we went on ahead and start discussing our next moves for the film. We went over each scene to make sure we are comfortable with the outcome and that we didn't have to remake them. We wanted to focus on the points of the film that we haven't recorded yet. For the scenes that were already recorded, we talked about the lighting, and the smoothness of the camera movements since both factors play a major role in the outcome of this film. As for the next film day, my partner and I want to be more prepared. Last time we left a few props so we could only film half the film, we are making the effort to bring everything this time just in case we decide to do a previous scene that was already recorded. As for editing, I started putting the scenes that were already recorded in parts of the film, and the scenes tha

Crazy weather

My partner and I finally got a chance to meet up following our schedule at a local park. For some reason, before we started filming we did not pay attention to the weather. It was really cloudy and extremely windy but we thought that it was still a good atmosphere for the film. We started filming the first half of the film, and although some of them weren't perfect we wanted to keep the footage as a rough draft of our film. We wanted to see the difference between our plan on paper and the outcome on camera. We tried multiple locations of the park to try and get the perfect lighting and background for the film and since the weather wasn't all that great some shots were a bit shaky. We plan on redoing these shots another time when we meet up and we also hope to start the other half of the film. Because the weather was getting out of hand we had to cut our filming day short. The winds started to get violent and there was pouring rain, we tried to get somewhere dry and stable bef

Second day (reschedule) blog

Image
My partner and I decided to start recording the opening scene of this project on a different day for the second day of filming. Rescheduling to a different day was the best option for us because we wanted to be properly prepared once we met together. We went through the many props that each of us had laid out and decided that my partner, Nurdlie, would bring the majority of the props because she had the ones we needed the most for this film, this includes the headphones, towel, etc for the first scene of the film. We are also going to be dressing accordingly to match the aesthetic of the film. We talked about the music that will be used in the film; we wanted to make sure that we were all on the same page in order to avoid any issues or delays during production. We read over the script again, making sure everything was how we expected it to be and that nothing had been overlooked in the film's preparations. We talked about who would edit each scene after we shot it, and we decided

First day blog

My partner and I met up for the first time today at the park to begin filming. We went through all the different scenes and shots as well as found all the perfect spots to shoot each scene to make sure we give the right effect to the audience. In each scene we analyzed, we ventured off to find a spot with specific lighting and mood. As my partner and I look for different areas in the park, we finally sat down to discuss and plan the specifics of each scene such as how we are going to start or act our opening film.  As we discussed the many possibilities we didn't have the time to start the actual filming. Most of the day was spent visually and physically drawing blueprints of our surroundings in support of the film location. My partner and I plan to start filming our first scene the next time we meet up to establish some progress and map out any mistakes that might occur throughout the filming of this project. We plan to bring props for specific scenes and wear costumes to match
