Title website research blog
My group and I are doing some background study on the website www.artofthetitle.com. We can learn more about titles at the start of movies and gain ideas on how we should do our titles. Many other movies title sequences are available on the website, allowing us to see different examples of the many styles and genres, and how it influences the movie’s title sequence. There is information about designers and studios so you can learn more about them and what their particular style is, and there is a few horror examples that my group and I can explore. There are top 10 title designs of the year, which could be a great example to look at. We see that each title is personally influenced and we hope to gain inspiration so we can add our unique style to our movie. This website is a great source to look at example templates and look for inspiration.
We used the website www.watchthetitles.com which displays behind-the-scenes content, offering to see the process and ideas behind movie creations. There is a wide variety of short title sequence clips, but in particular to our genre horror, there were a few reoccurring factors that my partner and I took notice of. For one there is the layout of how the names appeared on the screen, along with the diegetic music that goes with it. My partner and I noticed what genre movie this was right away and we thought it was important to take note of that for our movie title sequence. Another interesting thing about this website is that it not only shows movies, but it also shows tv shows, providing elaborate information on the many different aspects of entertainment. At first, my group and I weren't entirely sure about what a title sequence was, but after some research, we see that it is an important factor that sets the tone for the movie. As a group, we think that this website is a huge benefit that could help us with our final task
