Harsh editing for quality

 Hey, blog! Today is all about quality. Quality isn't really a main focus of editing for this film since I already filmed the the scenes on the highest setting which is 4k at 60 frames, however, there is some light editing to be done such as making sure the lighting is consistent throughout the film, that the lighting sets the right tone for the scene and is'nt dramatic to the point that it sticks out awkwardly between transitions. High quality helps the film to blend light and color better and the high frame rates helps the film flow smoother in comparison to a quality that is lower. Besides lighting there is also some quality tweaking that goes into film, such as making the film appear sharper and more professional like. Any special effects added is to enhance the film, making sure it corelates with music for that inspiring feeling left in the audience. Becuase this film is placed in the coming of age genre, the quality can not be too heavy our else the film will lack realism and the mood will be lost among the audience, it may even be considered a comedy. Fine adjustments to the quality and adding contrast improves the intensity of the film and create that realistic view we were going for in the film.

Camera Angles (CAMS) - Common CAMS used in the Us is over-the-shoulder shots. This angle was used in the scene where Pluto the boy of the family went missing on the beach. This angle was used to heighten the fear when seeing the scarecrow that was dripping with blood. Another CAMS was a POV shot used when the younger version of the mom saw her "other" move in the mirror. Extreme close-ups were used a lot to show the danger and craziness in the bad characters' faces while the fear in the normal good characters. Make ups and Editing

After having a delay in filming last class, my partner showed up to school today to finish the film. I went over everything that was missing and what needed to be replaced, and what needed to be cropped out. This time, the prop was taken without any problems or delays. Since we had another chance to shoot, I opted to reshoot all of the shots and preserve the old ones as backups. My partner and I visited all of the locations where we would be filming and editing. My partner and I finally recorded something decent enough to be edited in the final result of the commercial after several tries to match mood and tones of voices to background music. My partner and I also discussed various ideas and adjustments that could make the new product better than the previous one. Making little adjustments to movements without fully changing the concept. Changes made from peer review

Hey, blog! Today changes were made to the film. My partner and I really took the advice we got from our peer reviewer into consideration, and we applied it to our film. I can really see the difference in our film from before and after, and I'm happy to say that the film is looking really good. My partner and I met up again and we redid some shots and scenes which made the film look much smoother than before in the results. As for music, my partner and I picked out a few diegetic and non-diegetic sounds for the film and decided on the ones that we felt went better for the film. The last time when we were reviewed we had a rough draft and now that my partner and I were able to come together one last time to film we have an established product. There is some minor editing that is needed but nothing serious as mentioned in previous blogs.
